Ceremony marking end of WWII set for Wood
A ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and thanking veterans for their courage and sacrifice will be held at Wood National Cemetery in Milwaukee.
The "Spirit of '45" event starts at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the cemetery adjacent to the Milwaukee VA campus, 5000 W. National Ave. Sponsored by the cemetery and Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, the ceremony will include a wreath laying, re-enactors and speakers. It will be held on the northwest side of the cemetery grounds near I-94.
